Our wedding is fast approaching and I’m trying to get our butts into organised gear. It’s those sneaky little details that you forget about, they creep up on you at the last minute and then attack when you least expect it. It’s three months until our wedding (90 days to be exact) and I am striving not to get to that “freak out” point. It’s been a really smooth, easy going journey for Ben and I so far (apart from some minor stressful moments aha).
Jewellery to wear on the day, is one of those sneaky little details. Being organised and choosing wedding jewellery is actually really important. You don’t want to leave this task until the very last second because if you need to get rings re- sized, you may have just run out of time.
I chose to buy our wedding jewellery from Michael Hill because of their stunning, affordable range and boy oh boy, I’m in jewellery heaven. The jewellery you might like to think of buying:
Bride- Earrings, bracelet, wedding band
Groom- Wedding band, watch or cuff links as a gift
Bridesmaid- Bracelet, or to keep the look simple and clean go with just earrings
Mothers of bride & groom- Earrings or a pendant- a little token to say thank you for everything
Flower Girl- Earrings- If she’s old enough it would be nice to include her
They have a fabulous classic range of pearl earrings which are very reasonably priced. These pearl studs are the perfect gift for your gorgeous wedding party; they can wear them on the big day and are a sentimental keep sake for years to come. Pearls really are timeless and their simplistic beauty will shine with what ever dress your bridesmaids will wear (I love pearls, can you tell?).
Make sure you leave plenty of time when choosing your wedding band. We purchased ours from Michael Hill 5 months before hand. You might think that this is way too far in advance, but it means that we could put both bands on layby, and pay them off over the coming months. Having to pay out large sums of money can be really overwhelming and won’t always be possible. So we decided to do it this way, to eliminate any financial stress. Bands also take roughly 8x weeks to be made so keep this in mind when buying yours.
The ladies at Michael Hill were so lovely helping both Ben and I choose our rings. It was an amazing experience walking in with my husband-to-be, browsing for our wedding bands; the rings we would be wearing for the rest of our lives. It really hit us both that we would be married really soon! Ben doesn’t wear jewellery though and was (still is) very reluctant to wear a band. I know a lot of men aren’t able to wear bands due to the nature of their work, so this would make it hard for Hubbys to choose a band. The lovely staff at MH explained that there’s a popular wedding band range in Tungsten, designed for this exact reason. It the safest metal to wear for tradies, so because of this we chose a stunning grey band in Tungsten.
I can’t wait to give my gorgeous girls their gifts, and for Ben and I to exchange our beautiful rings. Thank you Michael Hill for making this experience even more exciting.
