When we have a baby and drop down to one wage, that’s when we know we won’t be able to afford those beautiful little luxuries that are swarming the online world of Instagram. So I figure, why not start collecting those beautiful things now, so that I don’t miss out when a baby comes along. I really do love adding special pieces to my Bebe Harvey Glory Box, especially when those pieces are handmade local gems. Supporting small, hardworking businesses really is something I feel so passionate about. Every addition in our glory box comes from a smallish business that creates quality, unique and incredibly made items. I feel so privileged to have each item ready and waiting for that little Harvey Bebe to come along.
The local stores that I am totally smitten about this week are Dukes and Duchesses, Noc Noc Bespoke Wooden Toys, Bobishi and Harpa’s Nest. I hope you love these brands just as much as I do & stay tuned for next week’s favourite picks. I have a lot of equally amazing brands in store for you all, be prepared for some ovary popping goodness.
Dukes and Duchesses
I love how Dukes and Duchesses offer a range for both boys and girls but they can also be gender neutral. Beck and Han are amongst the most sweetest of ladies and they hand make each piece right here in Australia. Their unique fabric prints, their range of adorable soft colours and the quality of their finishes with stud press buttons; all these gorgeous things make this quality brand oh so moreish.
Noc Noc Bespoke Wooden Toys
This is the most adorable little online store I ever did find. Heather is so passionate about what she is providing and I totally don’t blame her (I’m aiming to buy one of everything by the time I become a Mummy aha). The journey Heather has embarked on has truly become a success. She wanted to find amazing quality wooden toys from around the world and make them fully affordable and accessible right here in our own back yards (well, with the click of a button). Each wooden piece is nontoxic, durable and certainly made with tender loving care. Love this brand and I’ll feel so at ease knowing my babies will be playing with products that are so very safe.
You would know by now that anything knitted makes me weak at the knees. Bobishi’s hand knitted romper really does make my heart flutter. Not only does this romper look and feel amazing but the story behind them really pulls on all my mother-to-be heart strings. This romper is 100% alpaca yarn which allows it to be stretchy and flexible for a growing baby. This romper is designed in Australia but handmade in Bolivia by a group of grandmothers. These rompers might not be made locally but these women are able to knit and work in the comfort of their own homes, whilst still being able care for their families and children. If you would like to read more about this then head over to Bobishi’s website for more details.
I seriously fell head over heels in love with Harpa’s Nest. The ever so lovely Cassandra hand makes limited edition children’s wear locally, which is just perfect for our Bebe Glory Box. This vintage inspired brand really does show case quality made apparel. This romper is the softest of soft, stretchy for growing babes and bang on style. I love that this brand can be gender neutral and can be worn in any climate. This romper could be worn in winter layered with a long sleeve onesie and booties or in summer just rocking the look on its own. If you purchase from Harpas Nest, you’ll be blown away with their packaging. I know it’s all about the clothes and what you spend your money on, but the packaging is DIVINE. Don’t just take my word for it, test it out for yourself
