Feels Like Home- Styling a Woman’s Refuge

Check out the STUNNING before and after shots from our recent Salvation Army Woman’s Refuge makeover- thanks to the amazing team at Karrinyup Shopping Centre. I’m so so so proud that I got to be involved in this heart warming project.

These women are fleeing awful family violence and they seek shelter in centres like this one. It makes me very emotional thinking about lucky I am to be living in such a loving family environment, surrounded by beautiful things every day. I honestly couldn’t imagine my life any other way. Fleeing to centres that are often very bare, clinical and stark must be a very daunting situation. The purpose of this project was to transform this centre into a space that “feels like home”.

These women enduring such hardships, who are brave to leave their abusers, forced to stay elsewhere, they really do deserve a stylish, happy and welcoming place to feel safe. This is how this project was born, thanks to the brilliant minds at Karrinyup Shopping Centre.

Absolutely heart warming to watch this knowing that every day people and Karrinyup Shopping centre made this happen. Beautifully done everyone. And special commendation to Kyree Harvey, amazing stuff. It made me cry to hear the lovely Salvation Army lady talk about the family’s welcome. Amazing job they do.
