Alaska’s mermaid room is inspired by all the things she loves. It’s a calm space where she can dream about magic at night and inspire her imagination during the day. I have shopped to support smaller hard working businesses around Australia and linked all products below to make it easier for you.
I’ve been dreaming about doing up Alaska’s room for a while now, so I asked her if she’d like a special room makeover. She instantly blurted out “yes please but lets do mermaids and lots of pink”.
Alaska is totally obsessed with all things mermaids, anything pink and sparkly. So I was armed with my room brief and off I went shopping up all things mermaids, shells and pink! I wanted to create something timeless but also keep within my strict mermaid brief. Instead of overwhelming the space with mermaid pictures on everything, I chose pieces that reflected the idea of mermaids. So we incorporated aspects of the ocean, the sand and magical mermaid vibes. The rug and nude bedding represents sandy white beaches and beautiful shells. We also chose styling pieces that are easy to swap out at a later date when she is no longer obsessed with mermaids.
